Mrs. Chilekwa Christabel Mibenge- Musonda – Vice Board Chairperson, WARMA Board of Directors (Representative of the Commerce and Industry)

Mrs. Musonda is a seasoned Environmental and Public Health Scientist with over two decades of experience in water, sanitation, chemical management, climate resilience, and environmental health policy. She holds a Master’s Degree in Chemical Management from the University of Cape Town, a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science from UNESCO-IHE, Netherlands, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health from the University of Zambia, complemented by postgraduate diplomas in Monitoring and Evaluation and Project Management.

Her professional experience spans senior roles including WASH Advisor at Save the Children International, Programme Manager at On Call Africa, and Chief Environmental Health Officer under the Ministry of Health in Zambia. She has also served as Project Coordinator and National Chairperson for major environmental health programs supported by the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). She served as an International Consultant with UNEP, supporting global initiatives in mercury waste management and chemical safety integration in the health sector. She is currently serving as Climate and Health Adviser at the Commonwealth Secretariat.

As Vice Chairperson of the WARMA Board, Mrs. Musonda represents Commerce and Industry, providing strategic and technical leadership in water quality regulation, climate adaptation, and environmental health. Her expertise strengthens WARMA’s alignment with international best practices, ensuring robust water governance, enhanced public health protection, and climate resilience. She also plays a critical role in policy formulation, environmental monitoring, and the development of national strategies that integrate sustainable water use with public health priorities.
