The Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA) recently hosted a delegation from Mozambique, including experts from Cahora Bassa Hydroelectric Company (HCB) and the Regional Water Administration for Central Mozambique (ARA-Centro), for a strategic engagement on transboundary water management in the Zambezi River Basin.
The mission included high-level discussions and a technical field visit to the Luangwa Great East Road Bridge Gauging Station, a key transboundary monitoring point that supports flood forecasting, drought monitoring, water allocation, and hydropower planning for both Zambia and Mozambique.
The joint visit strengthened collaboration, ensured data integrity, and identified technical improvements to enhance real-time water monitoring.
Through coordinated stewardship and evidence-based decision-making, WARMA continues to advance sustainable and resilient water management for the shared benefit of communities across the Zambezi Basin.
