The Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA) Acting Director General, Mrs. Misozi Ngulube-Lumpa, today joined officials and staff from the Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation in bidding farewell to Hon. Eng. Collins Nzovu, MP, ahead of the dissolution of Parliament and Cabinet.
Speaking during the farewell engagement held at the Ministry Headquarters in Lusaka, Hon. Nzovu expressed gratitude to His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema for the opportunity to serve the country, describing the President as a leader who restored direction, purpose, and hope at a critical time in Zambiaโs development.
The Minister thanked Ministry staff and institutions within the water sector for their dedication, professionalism, and support throughout his tenure.
He noted that achievements recorded in the sector, including the expansion of water supply schemes, rehabilitation of infrastructure, improvement of sanitation systems, and responses to drought and cholera outbreaks, were made possible through teamwork and collective effort.
He further encouraged public officers to remain committed to serving the people of Zambia with integrity, professionalism, and unity, emphasising that while leadership may change, the responsibility to deliver essential services remains constant.
As part of the engagement, WARMA presented a Reverence Award to Hon. Eng. Collins Nzovu, MP, in recognition of his distinguished service and contribution to strengthening water resources management, institutional coordination, and sustainable development within the water sector.
Mrs. Lumpa joined other senior officials in paying tribute to the Ministerโs leadership and support to the sector, noting his role in advancing collaboration and strengthening strategic programmes in water development and sanitation.
The engagement concluded on a note of appreciation and mutual respect, with staff and sector institutions acknowledging Hon. Nzovuโs service to the Republic of Zambia and wishing him well in his future endeavours.
