The Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA) has continued its stakeholder and community engagement activities in Southern Province under the campaign โ€œProtect Your Water Sourceโ€, aimed at raising awareness on the importance of protecting and sustainably managing Zambiaโ€™s water resources.
As part of the ongoing outreach programme, WARMA engaged various stakeholders from Government institutions, water users, civil society organisations, and local communities to discuss sustainable water resources management and the shared responsibility of protecting rivers, dams, wetlands, aquifers, and catchments that are critical to Zambiaโ€™s social and economic development.
The engagements provided a platform for WARMA to enhance public understanding of its mandate and services, promote responsible water use, and strengthen stakeholder collaboration in safeguarding water resources for present and future generations.
The programme forms part of WARMAโ€™s ongoing nationwide efforts to increase awareness and encourage collective action towards the protection, conservation, and sustainable management of the countryโ€™s water resources.
