The Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA) is actively participating in the 60th Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Ndola, where it has been engaging with stakeholders and showcasing its services and mandate since the exhibition opened on 1st July 2026.
The official opening of this yearโ€™s Fair was graced by Her Honour the Vice President of the Republic of Zambia, Mrs. Mutale W. K. Nalumango, and held under the theme โ€œBridging Markets, Building the Future.โ€
During the ongoing fair, WARMA also had the honour of hosting Eng. Romas Kamanga, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation, who toured the Authorityโ€™s exhibition stand to appreciate its regulatory services and ongoing programmes.
He was received by WARMA Board Chairperson, Dr. John E.L. Kunda, together with the Director General, Ms. Misozi Ngulube, other Board Members and members of Senior Management.
During the engagement, Eng. Kamanga emphasised the importance of sustained investment in water resources management, noting that the adoption of modern technologies remains key to strengthening water security, improving efficiency, and supporting Zambiaโ€™s long-term development agenda.
In response, the Board Chairperson reaffirmed WARMAโ€™s commitment to strengthening water governance through effective regulation, strategic partnerships, and the sustainable management of the countryโ€™s water resources.
At the same time, the Director General and senior management team, supported by technical officers, have continued engaging a wide range of stakeholders including investors, businesses, public institutions, and members of the media.
These engagements are providing deeper insight into WARMAโ€™s regulatory mandate and service delivery functions.
In addition, the Authority is offering practical support at the stand, including guidance on applications for commercial water use permits, facilitation of borehole registration, and access to hydrological information to support investment decision-making.
Stakeholders are also being sensitised on key compliance issues such as illegal abstraction, sand mining, pollution control, and the protection of strategic water resource areas.
As the exhibition continues until 7th July 2026, WARMA invites all visitors at the Trade Fair to visit its stand to access services and learn more about how the Authority is managing and protecting Zambiaโ€™s water resources.
